No new episode today, Blazers, but we'd love to point you in the direction of episode 78 of our podcast, our Memorial Day special from 2016. It was a dream come true to be able to interview military veteran Douglas E. Emerson about his time on Beverly Hills, 90210 playing Scott Scanlon. We also had the opportunity to speak with actor Dave Sherrill about his career and his role as Gulf War veteran Jack Canner on the series.
“The Blaze with Lizzie and Kat” podcast is joined this week by screenwriter, Beverly Hills, 9210 [sic] fan, and thrower of astrological shade, Gil Hizon. We first heard about Gil Hizon when our previous guest Denise Hewett announced that his script Finding James had recently been optioned; you can read the screenplay on Scriptd. Gil will be teaching a workshop at Script Anatomy in L.A. on June 17, “The Business of TV Writing for the Emerging TV Writer.”
This week we’re joined by one of Kat’s oldest friends, who regrettably is brand new to Beverly Hills, 90210. But, with a Master’s degree in psychology and a lifetime of experience as a person who is blind, she offers some excellent insight into this episode. Donna is threatened as David develops an attraction to his piano tutor Holly, while Steve threatens the KEG President by outing him to the rest of the fraternity.
TV fanatic Pam, one of the generous donors to our fundraising campaign benefiting the Geena Davis Institute on Gender in Media, and Jewish Family Service of Los Angeles, joins us for the grooviest episode ever of Beverly Hills, 90210. We first met Pam in person when she let us sneak closer to the stage to sit with her at an “I Love the ‘90s” throwback concert featuring Color Me Badd, Kid ‘n Play, Tone Loc, and Vanilla Ice - so you know she’s a kindred spirit.
Special thanks to Shaun Fisher for performing the winners of our “David Silver’s Best Rap of the 20th Century” contest!
Shantay! Tori Spelling and Jennie Garth guest-judged the latest episode of RuPaul’s Drag Race, and the queens had to compete in an acting challenge that paid homage to Beverly Hills, 90210. Longtime friend, early guest on the podcast, and drag enthusiast Will Robelo joins us to discuss our journeys with the art of drag and to recap this incredible night of television. You can purchase the RPDR episode on Amazon Prime, watch the Untucked follow-up on YouTube, and hear Jennie and Tori on RuPaul and Michelle Visage’s podcast “What’s the Tee?”
Comedian, writer, actor appearing on the upcoming season of Twin Peaks, and host of The CrabFeast Podcast, Jay Larson is on The Blaze with Lizzie and Kat podcast this week! We talk about our Beverly Hills, 90210 journeys, the Santa Ana winds, and how to cheat at golf. Special thanks to Shaun Fisher for performing the first of two winners of our “David Silver’s Best Rap of the 20th Century” contest!
